How do I start the trial?

You can sign up for the free trial by clicking the link on the homepage. After you have entered your email address, CertSuite will send you an email to validate your email address, and to give you the opportunity to specify the name you want to use for your company, etc.

Once you have validated your email address and filled in a few details, you can start your trial with as many users as you want. You will have full functionality for one month.

Will I be billed for the trial, and do I have to give my credit card details?

No, you will not be billed – the trial is completely free. And no, you do not have to give us your credit card details as the trial requires no obligation on your part.

How much does CertSuite cost?

You need to buy a licence for each person in your company who will use CertSuite. You can pay monthly at £12 per user, or annually at £120 per user.

Is it a subscription, or a one-off payment?

You pay a subscription which can be paid monthly or annually. An annual licence is the same price as 10 months consecutive subscription.

You can pay monthly or annually. An annual licence is the same price as 10 months consecutive subscription.

Can I use it on more than one computer?

You can use CertSuite on as many computers, phone, or tablets as you want. However, you must have a licence for each person in your company who uses CertSuite.

How do I buy additional licences?

Once you have signed in to CertSuite, you can go to your Admin page and buy more licences. If you have chosen monthly licensing, your new licences will be active immediately, but you won’t be charged until the next month. If you have annual licences, then you will be charged for the fraction of the year that is left.

Can more than one person use it at once?

Yes. You can have as many users as you like (provided you have paid for licences for them). Several people can work on the same job at the same time, and all their input is ‘synchronised’ through the CertSuite cloud.

How can I manage my team?

CertSuite lets you assign different roles to different users in your company. For example, if you assign some users the ‘Qualified Supervisor’ role, only they can open and edit jobs which have been submitted ‘For Approval’.

Can I pay per certificate?

No, there is no extra charge for each certificate. The subscription you pay lets you create as many certificates as you want.

Does it work on a tablet or mobile phone?

Yes, there is a CertSuite app in both the Apple iOS and Google Play app stores. Both apps are free to download, and you log on with the same username and password that you use in your browser.

Where is my data stored?

Your data is stored in the CertSuite cloud, which is hosted in Microsoft Azure, inside the UK.

Will I lose my work and is my work backed up?

Every 90 seconds, CertSuite tries to save all your changes to the cloud, where it is very securely protected and backed up. If you use CertSuite ‘offline’ (where you have no internet signal), your data is saved in the browser or app until you have a good connection again, then all the new data is ‘synchronised’ to the CertSuite cloud.

Does it comply with the new Amendment 2 of the Wiring Regulations BS7671?

Yes, it does. CertSuite lets you choose whether to carry on with the previous amendment (which you can do until September 2022) or switch straightaway to the new one. The Inspection Schedules are quite different.

Do I have to pay for BS 7671 updates?

No, you don’t have to pay for any updates, provided you keep your subscription up to date. Not only do we keep up with any new regulations, but we also regularly release improvements and new features.

Can I use it with Windows, Mac, Android, or iPhone?

Yes, you can. You can use CertSuite on a PC or laptop through a browser (e.g., Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Safari) and you can also download the app for your phone or tablet from the Android or Apple app stores.

Is there an app?

Yes, there is an Android app and an Apple iOS app. You can install either for free from the relevant app store.

Can I add photos to certificates?

Yes, you can capture photos and add them to the certificate or report. The photos can be added to your ‘observations’, and can show faults, damaged equipment, a limitation (e.g., a locked cupboard), and even work that has been done particularly well.

Does it really work offline?

Yes. CertSuite works and looks pretty much the same whether you are online or offline. The main differences are that you can’t preview any reports while offline, and you can’t set up new users or buy more licences. Obviously, if you are working offline, your data will not be saved to the cloud until you regain a connection to the internet.

What happens if I lose internet?

If you lose internet connection while you are working in a job, you can carry on recording more test results, adding boards and circuits as normal. You can even create a new job. If you are using the Android or iOS app, you can switch to another job provided you have previously opened that job on your phone or tablet.

Is there a support line and do I have to pay for support?

Support is by email to software@megger.com and it is included within your subscription.

Do I have to use a Megger tester?

No, you don’t. However, CertSuite works very well with Megger testers!

Does CertSuite do commercial, industrial, and domestic installations?

Yes, it does. We have many users who create certificates for homes with a single ‘Consumer Unit’ and we have several big customers who do jobs with hundreds of distribution boards.

What certificates does it do?

CertSuite does all the usual suspects: EIC, EICR, and MEW. It also does Electric Vehicle Charging Point versions, which we call EVCIC and EVCIR. Additionally, there is a long list of appropriate certificates available for fire alarm, emergency lighting, solar PV, and fan maintenance, to name a few.

Does it do PAT testing.

No, CertSuite doesn’t do PAT.

Can I add logos and signatures?

Yes, you can add your company’s logo and the logo of your accreditation body. You can also add signatures, provided you have them available as .JPG files (with a white background) or .PNG files (with a transparent background).

How long does a Minor Works certificate take?

With a bit of practice, less time than it takes to drink a cup of tea! There are lots of time saving features in CertSuite, and lots of support on how to use them.

Can I customise my certs with colour?

You can choose whatever colour you like for the title on each page of your certificates.
